In Acts 11:17 is Peter referencing when he and the 120 believed or when Cornelius and his Household believed?

TheI'm confused about how to interpret Acts 11:17, especially because of Bible translation differences.

The Bible in Basic English translates Acts 11:17 as "If then God gave them, when they had faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, the same as he gave to us, who was I to go against God?"(translation)

If then God gave them, when they had faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, the same as he gave to us, who was I to go against God?

ASV and most other translations are more like: "If then God gave unto them the like gift as he did also unto us, when we believed on the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I, that I could withstand God?"(similar to other translations)

If then God gave unto them the like gift as he did also unto us, when we believed on the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I, that I could withstand God?

WhichWhen Peter says "them", is ithe referring to Cornelius or are there arguments forto the 120 from Acts 1-2 or both? It is really quite an important verse and its meaning has a lot of impact on understanding the GiftI'm asking with questions about how this impacts / Baptism of the Holy SpiritBaptism of the Holy Spirit in particular.
