WHO was [lucifer] told to serve when [he] refused the LORD? This question was the beginning of my journey. After an initial false start, I was touched & turned to go down the right path with much prayers & petitions. While studying Scripture to mine for the reason for [lucifer's] 'non-servium' I entered, ironically, through the 'Service Door' to discover the Key of Creation. The Key is a metaphor for the foundational principles of Creation. 'Serving' is part of the Key, thus in refusing to serve [lucifer] stood opposed to the Key & [he] unknowingly stood opposed to [his] own creation.
I knew that the Book of Job would be an important part in forming the description of the Key. It was universally accepted as a Book centered about the questions of evil & suffering. Both are very important questions/problems the Key would have to address.
In the light of the Key it became apparent the universal consensus, i.e. the Central Question of the Book of Job concerned the problem of suffering & evil, was wrong. It is a very important part of the Book but it was not the Central Question. The mistaken consensus has caused the Book to appear disjointed, self-contradicting, incohesive, & mysterious while at the same time it was recognized as very profound & deep. It was a conundrum. While the main lesson of the Book was obvious, i.e. it is wrong to call God to account even in matters of great suffering, so much of the Book remained mysterious. It seemed everyone knew there must be more to the Book than what we currently understand & many waited expectedly.
Our understanding of the Book has been shackled by our intense desire for the answer to the questions of evil & suffering. So shackled that we missed the True Central Question of the Book, the question that unifies the Book & makes it understandable, proving it to be very cohesive. Once we are unshackled from focusing so narrowly on the question of evil & suffering in the Book of Job, we are freed to recognize that the True Central Question is 'What is Man?' (& the other side of the question, how do we speak rightly about God?). Then we can go down the right path leading to a Right & True understanding of the Book. In the light of the True Central Question the Book becomes understandable, very integrated & cohesive. I began this journey over 34 years ago & this is what I have devoted my studies to ever since (along with the Books of Esther & Judges.)
