About

With a PhD in Engineering I currently provide machine learning (supervised, unsupervised and semi-supervised) and deep learning (CNN, RNN, LSTM) in the building performance analysis space. Broader work includes: data cleaning/sanitizing, wrangling, feature engineering, deep learning, machine learning, model deployments, inferential statistics, ETL (extraction, transformation & loading) and explicit simulation of physical processes.

I use Python (tensorflow, keras, scikit-learn, pandas, pytorch) to create DL/ML models for gaining insights relevant to business objectives by using and extending libraries for data cleaning, streamlining data flow pipelines, insights, visualizations, DL/ML specific mathematics etc.

In another life I worked on ETL (data extraction, transformation and loading) by creating custom PHP libraries with SQL back-end and HTML5, CSS and JavaScript front-end. With data mining extensions in Hadoop and Spark

I have also developed GUI using C++ (VisualStudio) and Eclipse (Java)

In an even earlier life I developed scalable (HPC to Ra-Pi) computational research software: back-end in Fortran, front-end in C/C++ and reporting in XML and JSON

I have served as sysadmin and webadmin for a number of commercial and research projects

I have written code for: machine learning, deep learning, ETL, visualizations, front-ends, back-ends, advanced building science computation

Using: scripting (Python, bash, JavaScript, awk, PHP, Perl, VB, DOS), object oriented languages (C++, Java) and procedural languages (Fortran, C, Pascal)

For version control I use: git and svn

For website development I have used: Python, PHP, SQL, HTML5, JavaScript and CSS

For debugging I prefer: gdb (useful for segmentation faults and hung processes) and simple write to console statements

I have found the *nix console (spelled bash) adequate for majority of my development along with a trending text editor, I also like working with Jupyter notebooks and rarely have needed an IDE except for UI development
