Solomon was the third and final king of the united kingdom of Israel, prior to its division under his son into the kingdoms of Israel & Judah.
Solomon built the temple known variously as the "first temple" or fittingly, "the temple of Solomon". He was famous for his wisdom, and may be the source of some of the proverbs & teachings recorded in the Old Testament.
