Questions about existence prior to mortal life

Pre-existence (also sometimes referred to as pre-mortal existence or pre-incarnate existence) speaks of existence prior to birth (or conception).

Various passages have been used to argue for Jesus' existence (without a physical body) in Old Testament times and in advance of the creation; a number of passages have also been used to argue for the existence of the all of the human family prior to birth.

The question of Jesus' status as an eternal or created being was at the forefront of the discussion at the Council of Nicea.

Questions about pre-existence focus on what can or cannot be derived from the text regarding the who/what/when/where of existence prior to birth.
