2 Samuel 23 mentions David but did not explicitly mentions that he fought with Eleazar in the barley field.

1 Chronicles 11 mentions that

they took their stand in the middle of the field

1 Kings and 2 Kings mention the name "David" 71+15 = 86 times.

1 & 2 Chronicles mention the name "David" 153+65 = 218 times.

The Kings are more reticent in mentioning David compared with the chroniclers.

2 Samuel 23:9 Did David fight with Eleazar in the barley field?

The answer has to be yes. Otherwise, it would contradict 1 Chronicles 11"14. The difference between the two depictions can be explained by the fact that the chroniclers were more fond of mentioning David's name.
