What did Jesus mean by “the ends of the earth” in Matthew 12:42?

The kingdom of Sheba was located, according to some sources, in the area of what is today the Republic of Yemen. A journey to Jerusalem of 1500miles /2400Km

The Queen of Sheba Visits Solomon

2 Chronicles 9:1 (NIRV)

9 The queen of Sheba heard about how famous Solomon was. So she came to Jerusalem to test him with hard questions. She arrived with a very large group of attendants. Her camels were carrying spices, huge amounts of gold, and valuable jewels. She came to Solomon and asked him about everything she wanted to know.

Jesus used the queen of Sheba as an object lesson for the scribes and Pharisees. Jesus said:

Matthew 12:42 NIV

The Queen of the South will rise at the judgment with this generation and condemn it; for she came from the ends of the earth to listen to Solomon's wisdom, and now something greater than Solomon is here.

The Queen of Sheba heard about King Solomon's God given wisdom and out of her great appreciation, traveled 1500 miles /2400 Km to listen to Him. How much so should the scribes and Pharisees should have listened to Jesus who was with right there in front of them.
