Daniel 8:13-14 NASB

13 Then I heard a holy one speaking, and another holy one said to that particular one who was speaking, “How long will the vision about the regular sacrifice apply, [o]while the transgression causes horror, so as to allow both the holy place and the host [p]to be trampled?” 14 He said to me, “For 2,300 evenings and mornings; then the holy place will be [q]properly restored.”

It seems its not clear whether this prophecy should be translated as referring to literal days or years in the above text.

Should the 2300 evenings and mornings be understood as referring to literal days?

One of the more common interpretations is not days vs. years, but rather that the reference to "evenings and mornings" suggests separated "daily" sacrifices and therefore the 2300 should be divided in half to accurately reflect the "two daily sacrifices each day" implied reference to 1150 "completed" literal days. Not sure if it was technically asked by the OP, but it is a common understanding and was not addressed in any of the answers.

They are literal days. This vision concerns the rise of Antiochus IV Epiphianes and the Maccabean Revolt during the 2nd cent. BC. The time period is pin pointed by verses 20 - 21.

"20 The ram which thou sawest having two horns are the kings of Media and Persia. 21 And the rough goat is the king of Grecia: and the great horn that is between his eyes is the first king." KJV

We can then apply this to the previous vs. 3-14 and know that the ram with two horns (two kings) was Mede and Persian empire, with the greater horn as Cyrus and the lesser horn as Darius (Gubaru) the Mede. (2) (3)

The vision of the goat with the strong horn (vs. 5) was Alexander the Great who conquered the Mede-Persian empire, and became the 3rd empire of Daniel's vision in chap. 2, and chap. 11. Dan. 8:8 tells of the death of Alexander: "when he was strong, the great horn was broken", and the division of the Greek empire into four smaller ones.

The four generals who split Alexander's kingdom are known from history as Seleucus 1 Nicator (the Seleucid dynasty), Ptolemy 1 Soter (the Ptolemaic dynasty), Cassander, and Lysimachus. They were split with the four directions - the four winds of heaven: east, west, north, and south. (4)

Of these four lesser kingdoms one took over the south and east, toward the pleasant land (vs. 9, Israel), and was the Seleucid dynasty in the Eastern Mediterranean regions sometimes called the Levant ("the rising" for the rising sun).

The Seleucid dynasty is referred to as the kings of the north in Dan. ch. 11, which calls the Ptolemaic dynasty the kings of the south. The kings of the north were constantly battling with the kings of the south for control of the Levant / Palestine. (5).

They were north and south of Jerusalem, which is the focus of the prophesies of Daniel. Daniel was praying in chap. 9 about when God would allow them to return to Jerusalem, and Jerusalem was the pleasant land (vs. 9), the holy land, the holy city (Dan. 9:24). So, the directions of north and south were as related to the city of Jerusalem.

The host of heaven in vs. 10 were the people of heaven - God's people which were at that time still the Israelite, and were Daniel's people (Dan. 9:24). Casting some of the host (people) and the stars (rulers, princes) to the ground happened when the prince that magnified himself (vs. 11) to the prince (ruler) of the host (God's people) and took away the daily sacrifice.

The use of "stars" in prophesy meant the rulers, authorities of the land. Throwing the "stars" down was removing them from their positions of rule and authority.

The prince that magnified himself was Antiochus IV Epiphianes whom the Jews called Antiochus Epimanes - the mad man. (7) He changed the succession of the high priest from the father/son line to one of client privilege - bought and paid for. First, Jason (Yeshua) ousted his brother Onias III by buying the position form Antiochus in 175 BC, and then in 172 - 171 BC Antiochus Epiphanes became angry with Jason, and displaced him with Jason's younger brother Onias who changed his name to the Greek Menelaus. Menelaus had outbid Jason for the post.

The 2300 days are literal days, approx. 6 years and 4 months, and are the time from which Antiochus IV Epiphianes sacked Jerusalem, and plundered the temple. From 170 -169 BC to the time that Judah, son of Mattathias (Maccabean) restored and cleansed the temple in approx. Dec 165(4) BC was the time the temple and the host (people) were trodden under foot (vs. 13-14). (1) (6) (8) (9)

  • @Gina,read somewhere that this refers to years from 457BC to 1844AD which is exactly 2300 years Sep 14, 2018 at 19:38
  • This is the oft quoted interpretation but by Gina's own dates, it was not 6 years and a few month but about 4 years that the temple was desecrated: 169-165BC. Further, what do you make of Jesus' interpretation that made Daniel's prophecies still future (Matt 24:15 - compare Dan 8:17, 19, 26). Further, Antiochus IV Epiphanes, by your own admission was a mad man so he was not great nor did he prosper nor reach the host of heaven and did not succeed. Further Onius was a priest not a prince!

  • @Collen, the historicist make that argument. I would ask them when the sanctuary was cleansed at that time? There was no temple in Jerusalem in 1844 AD that could have been cleansed. The prophesy was for the temple that stood during the time of the Ptolemaic and Seleucid Dynasties.

  • @ Peter, Sources vary on the historical dates. Others have the sanctuary cleansed in 164 BC. But, Hebrews counted inclusive. Any part of day 1 counted the f1st day; any part of the st1 year, same. So, if we count 4 mos back from Dec 164 BC we get the mo of Sep 164 BC inclusive count. Then Yr 6 was Sep 164 BC to Oct 165; Yr 5 - Sep 165 BC - Oct 166; Yr 4 - Sep 166 - Oct 167 Yr 3 - Sep 167 BC - Oct 168; Yr 2 - Sep 168 BC - Oct 169; Yr 1 -the 1st Yr was then Sep 169 - Oct 170. Daniel's prophesy are not still future. I completely disagree with the expectation of a future ...

  • @ Peter, cont... destruction of Jerusalem. The end of days of Daniel's prophesy concerned the end of the desolations of Jerusalem and the temple, not the end of all time. See my post "Daniel and The End Times" as well as "Frequent Mistakes - Part III: The Last Day" and Part VI: The End of The World?" at my site ShreddingTheVeil.org.

First note that the word "and" is supplied in most translations. More literally, one might render the passage, "evenings-mornings". The best way to understand Bible prophecy is to seek its precedents. One of the few places where evening-morning is used consistently is in Gen 1 where literal 24 hour days are clearly in mind as we find the phrase, "evening and morning were first/second [etc] day". Thus, it is clear that the literal meaning is "days".

However, that is not to suggest that a 2300 day period is the prophet's necessary intention as Daniel 9 appears to make clear. 70 weeks are clearly weeks of years using the time honoured day-for-year idea. That step will depend upon one's presuppositions and the general method of prophetic interpretation one uses (eg, overly literal, spiritual, preterist, historicist, futurist, etc.)

All I can say here is that the 2300 "day" prophecy is the answer to the tripartite question in v13 - essentially how long will God allow the blasphemous activities of the little horn to continue to denigrate the sanctuary. Part of the explanation refers several times to "the time of the end" (Dan 8:17, 19) and the distant future (v26).

1

13 Then I heard a holy one speaking, and another holy one said to the one who spoke, “For how long is the vision concerning the regular burnt offering, the transgression that makes desolate, and the giving over of the sanctuary and host to be trampled underfoot?” 14 And he said to me,“ For 2,300 evenings and mornings. Then the sanctuary shall be restored to its rightful state.” (Daniel 8) [ESV]

Likely the meaning is both: literally 2,300 days as suggested in Gina's answer and 2,300 years following the principle that it takes a year for each day to remove iniquity:

According to the number of the days in which you spied out the land, forty days, a year for each day, you shall bear your iniquity forty years, and you shall know my displeasure.’ (Num 14:34)

"You shall bear your iniquity...a year for each day." It would take 40-years to remove the iniquity before the people would be able to enter the Promised Land. Or stated differently, "After 40 evening-mornings (a year for each day), the nation shall be restored to its rightful state."

In addition, there is a physical reality which underlies the year/day principle. Since the earth is moving around the sun as it rotates on its axis, measuring the length of day using the sun overstates by 4 minutes, the amount of time it takes the earth to make a complete revolution. This is the difference between solar time and sidereal time. Therefore, someone on the surface of the earth counting days using the sun will continually understate the length of a day in relation to someone using the distant stars (or watching from above). Every time someone counts 360 solar days, the earth will actually have completed 361 rotations (360 days x 4 minutes/day = 1440 minutes which is 24 hours). Essentially, a full 24-hour day is "hidden" every 360 solar days.

It is related in the time of Antiochus Epiphanes IV.

He is listed in the kings of Daniel 11

At the appointed time he will invade the South again, but this time the outcome will be different from what it was before. Ships of the western coastlands will oppose him, and he will lose heart. Then he will turn back and vent his fury against the holy covenant. He will return and show favor to those who forsake the holy covenant.

His armed forces will rise up to desecrate the temple fortress and will abolish the daily sacrifice. Then they will set up the abomination that causes desolation. With flattery he will corrupt those who have violated the covenant, but the people who know their God will firmly resist him. Daniel 11:29-32

https://www.neverthirsty.org/bible-studies/bible-book- studies-daniel/the-amazing-prophecies

At the end of Daniel 11, however there is subtle comparison to another king in the foreground of the prophetic landscape, who cannot be identified with Antiochus Epiphanes, but is more readily identified with Cambyses, Cyrus' son. Though there are marked similarities between the two (attacking Egypt and returning back in a mad rant that bring their end)

He will also invade the Beautiful Land. Many countries will fall, but Edom, Moab and the leaders of Ammon will be delivered from his hand. He will extend his power over many countries; Egypt will not escape. He will gain control of the treasures of gold and silver and all the riches of Egypt, with the Libyans and Cushites in submission. Daniel 11:41-43

Daniel describes various Anti-Christs (Against Christ) but in the period before Christ are the tyrants who raise against God's people. Each are a prototype of the man of lawlessness in 2 Thessalonians 2:1–12 coming in the endtimes.

These are the antagonists of the tribulations at various times in history - to Jews living through these times, they are like the end. It prepares us for the great tribulation ahead of us. So we are told in Daniel 12, the length of the tribulations and the polarizing effect.

It will be for a time, times and half a time. When the power of the holy people has been finally broken, all these things will be completed. Daniel 12:7

Many will be purified, made spotless and refined, but the wicked will continue to be wicked. None of the wicked will understand, but those who are wise will understand. Daniel 12:10

From the time that the daily sacrifice is abolished and the abomination that causes desolation is set up, there will be 1,290 days. Blessed is the one who waits for and reaches the end of the 1,335 days. Daniel 12:11-12

This period of the tribulations will last the often specified period of 3 1/2 years or 42 months or here of about 1290 days. It is a mercifully short time (Matthew 24:22). Note, here this is given as literal days in Daniel 12:11-12 and the reference to the 'daily sacrifice is abolished' and 'the abomination that causes desolation' is the same as Daniel 11:31, brings us back to Antiochus Epiphanes.

His armed forces will rise up to desecrate the temple fortress and will abolish the daily sacrifice. Then they will set up the abomination that causes desolation" Daniel 11:31

In Daniel 12:11-12, 1290 days = 1150 days after daily sacrifices taken away + 140 days when abomination set up. 45 days later the temple is cleansed. Antiochus Epiphanes dies. These are the days of the Maccabean revolt.

167 – 164 BC, 2300 evening and morning sacrifices taken away (1150 days) by Antiochus Epiphanes (Daniel 8:14)+

See Commentary on the Old Testament C F Kell Franz Delitzsch You can find this in a Google search "1290 days antiochus"

LOOKING BACK IN DANIEL TO SEE WHERE ANTIOCHUS EPIPHANES EMERGES

The 2 horned ram mention in Daniel 8 is right to be associated with Cyrus the Great and Darius the Mede, but we have to go a bit further to explain how it butted against the goat of Greece. The below puts this in context with other chapters of Daniel that make the important distinction between the Persian kingdoms for the sake of the temple and Jerusalem being built. At the same times illustrates further the identification of Cambyses in the book of Daniel.

enter image description here

Daniel 2

• Gold Head: Babylonian Empire

• Silver Chest and Arms: Persian and Medes overtook Babylon, under Cyrus (Persia) and Darius the Mede in 539 BC. The Medes and Persians were aligned with the 2 branches of the Achaemenid royal family (Aryans where an offshoot of the Medes). The Persian male line ended when Cambyses, the son of Cyrus, met with an accident in 522 BC.

• Bronze Belly and Thighs: Persian, Mede & Aryan united by the union of Darius I, son of Hystaspes (Aryan), and Atossa daughter of Cyrus (Persian). During Darius I reign the Persian Empire came to its peak (Daniel 2:39 ruled over the whole earth). In Darius I reign the temple and Jerusalem was rebuilt.

• Iron Legs: Greece led by Alexander the Great, one of history’s greatest military minds, overthrew the Persian empire. The legs can be both seen as their capability of speedily and maneuverability in combat. The legs can also be seen in the long line of North and South kings (Ptolemy and Seleucid dynasties) in Daniel 11, after Alexander the Great divided the kingdom between 4 generals.

• Iron and Clay Feet: Romans were strong as iron like the Greeks, but mixed with clay – “they moved away from traditional religion and otherworldly philosophy in favour of a this-worldly concern for humanity”.

• The Rock: uncut by human hands, was Jesus and the kingdom of God that smashed into the times of the Romans and grew to fill the whole earth according the Great Commission.

Daniel 7

• First Beast: A Lion with wings that stood like a man. Could describe Nebuchadnezzar who was raised up from the level of an animal to become human.

• Second Beast: Bear with 3 ribs in his mouth (the rib is used in the account of union of man and woman in Genesis 2, but the fact that they are in the mouth seems to depict the scrappy way which this kingdom was wrought). This is rule of Darius I. His reign unifies the 3 family lines of the Persians & Medes (Achaemenids) and Aryans (who were of Mede stock - Herodutus). The mention that it was raised up on one side indicating that at first kingdom 2 was Persian and Mede (under Cyrus) but then the Aryan side became raised up in the new kingdom 3. Who raises up kingdoms? God. For it was in the Jews favour that Cambyses (of kingdom 2 and who was inferior) was quashed so that the Temple would be built.

• Third Beast: A Leopard with 4 wings, heads and horns. The leopard is Greece and primary, Alexander the Great. 4 Wings represent swiftness and direction in which his generals established the kingdom. The 4 horns represent the power of the kings and sometimes the dynasties that follow.

• Forth Beast: has 10 horns. There are 10 kings of the Ptolemy & Seleucid Dynasties. A boastful horn is mentioned, he is Antiochus Epiphanes IV.

Daniel 8

Short and long horns of the ram represent the kings along 2 kingdoms identified in chapter 2.

Ram

• The shorter one the Silver kingdom is Persian and Mede (including Cyrus & Darius the Mede, and Cambyses II.

• The later long one refers to the Bronze kingdom which was a different mix (like Bronze is an alloy) of Persian, Mede & Aryan. It lasted longer, to the reign of Artaxerxes II.

Goat

Greece grew powerful under Alexander the Great and then his 4 generals, and as referred to in Daniel 7 the Ptolemy and Seleucid Dynasties followed with the tyrant, Antiochus Epiphanes, quelling the rebellion of the Maccabees, during which 2,300 (evening and morning) sacrifices were not performed (1,150 days between 167 BC and 164 BC).

Daniel 8:14 is neither about Antiochus nor 2300 years; It is about Yeshua, His ministry, and His sacrifice. The context is "tamids" (sacrifices) as in vs 11, 12, 13, and "evening-morning" is synonymous with "continual" and "daily" that were the twice-a-day sacrifices.

Thus, "evening-morning 2300" is 2300 tamids during 1150 days. The other keys to understanding Daniel 8:14 are "cleansed" which is "nisdaq" (the only occurrence in the OT of that form of "tsadaq") which is correctly translated as "vindicated." "tsadaq" is a forensic verb which means "a person is found 'not guilty'"; that is how the word is used in each of the 42 times it is found in the OT. That word, "nisdaq" includes every possible application of "tsadaq" and can never - I repeat - never, apply to a building.

It then follows that "sanctuary" cannot be the building in Jerusalem, but rather has to be a person. Brown Driver Briggs Hebrew Lexicon's first definition of "sanctuary" is "A holy being." Who does the tamid (sacrifices) represent? The Messiah is the "holy being" who will be the Sacrificial Lamb that takes away the sins of the world. In Daniel 9:26,27 (in pertinent parts) Daniel is told: "And after sixty two weeks, Messiah shall be cut off, but not for Himself. ... And he shall confirm a covenant with the many for one week. And in the middle of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the offering to cease."

That week is the 70th week, seven prophetic years, 2520 days. Does the 1150 days fit within that seven years/2520 days? Yes, and here is the time line.

Yeshua was baptized, was then 40 days in the wilderness after which He was tempted by the Accuser, Satan. The 1150 days of Daniel 8:14 is Yeshua's ministry from temptation to resurrection. Yeshua then remained with the envoys (apostles) for another 40 days, Acts 1:3. 40+1150+40=1230 days. Daniel 12:11 says, 1290 days. That span is from Yeshua's ascension to the stoning of Stephen. 1230+1290=2520 days, exactly seven years.

Daniel 12:12 then says, "He who reaches 1335 days," so an extra 45 days is prophesied. Saul was present at the stoning of Stephen, and it was said that "those who testified against [Stephen] laid their garments at the feet of a certain young man who was called Shaul." Acts 7:58. 45 days later, Saul who became the Envoy Paul, was called to take the Gospel of the Kingdom to the other nations.

The foregoing is the correct interpretation of the prophecy Daniel was shown about the "evening-morning 2300" in 8:14, 9:26,27, and 12:11,12. Those were the prophesies that, together in context, were fulfilled by Yeshua's life, death, and resurrection by which He vindicated Elohim from Satan's accusations.

Professors Michael Segal and Shlomo Wadler have recently argued [1] [2] that the expression “2300 evenings and mornings” in Dan 8:14 refers to the number of daily offerings which were to be missed due to the desecration of the Temple during the same 3.5-year interval referred to in 9:27 and 12:11–12.

The gist of the argument is that, according to an interpretive tradition of Lev 23:37-38 attested in the Damascus Document but probably pre-sectarian, in festival days and Sabbaths there should be only one daily sacrifice.

Let us calculate the number of missing daily sacrifices in 3.5 years.

The festival days in a year are:

  • 6 Unleavened Bread (1 day counted apart as Sabbath)
  • 1 Pentecost = Shavuot
  • 1 1st day of 7th month
  • 1 10th day of 7th month = Day of Atonement = Yom Kippur
  • 7 Tabernacles = Sukkot (1 day counted apart as Sabbath)

for a total of 16 non-Sabbath festival days per year (in all calendars).

Assuming the lunisolar calendar of 354-day regular years plus an additional 30-day month seven times every 19 years:

354 / 7 = 51 Sabbaths per year (rounding up 50.57)

16 + 51 = 67 special days with 1 daily sacrifice

354 - 67 = 287 regular days with 2 daily sacrifices

287 x 2 + 67 = 641 evening and morning sacrifices per year

641 x 3.5 = 2244 evening and morning sacrifices in 3.5 years except...

... for the additional 30-day month (26 regular days + 4 Sabbaths):

26 x 2 + 4 = 56 evening and morning sacrifices in the additional month

2244 + 56 = 2300 evening and morning sacrifices in 3.5 years

I find this conversation interesting and was wondering if I can bring another thought into mind. Have any of you wondered when the Roman empire was formed in the eyes of God? The first three empires started when they first faced each other for the very first time. Such as:

Daniel 8:8

Therefore the he goat waxed very great: and when he was strong, the great horn was broken; and for it came up four notable ones toward the four winds of heaven

as well as

Daniel 8:21-23

21 And the rough goat is the king of Grecia: and the great horn that is between his eyes is the first king. 22 Now that being broken, whereas four stood up for it, four kingdoms shall stand up out of the nation, but not in his power. 23 And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors are come to the full

We all know Alexander is the First king of Greece, when he died four kings Stood up and took his kingdom in four directions. Out of one of these kingdoms goes to Rome.

Maybe the Pyrrhic War (280-275bc)? You will have to read about the war. Anways, the Romaan king won falsely as it states below. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pyrrhic_War

Daniel 8:9

And out of one of them came forth a little horn, which waxed exceeding great, toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the pleasant land.

Daniel 8:23-24

23a king of fierce countenance, and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up. 24 And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power: and he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper, and practice, and shall destroy the mighty and the holy people.

Now we know for a fact the fourth Beast is the last kingdom in Daniel's Dream. Which has changed into many dissimilar roles in life, such as Western Rome, eastern Rome, Papacy, Vatican, Muslim rise (Who we can for sure guesss who the false prophet is), Ottoman Empire, Secular Education system (Big Bang theory, Evolution, Modern Infidelity, and of course the Great Gog. As you can see in the news.

Daniel 7:23

The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces.

Now what do legs do? They Tread, walk on or over.

Daniel 8:13-14

13 Then I heard one saint speaking, and another saint said unto that certain saint which spake, How long shall be the vision concerning the daily sacrifice, and the transgression of desolation, to give both the sanctuary and the host to be trodden under foot? 14 And he said unto me, Unto two thousand and three hundred days; then shall the sanctuary be cleansed.

Now since God doesn't lie or change, then this rule must be applied: Ezekiel 4:6b

I have appointed thee each day for a year.

So what What is the sanctuary you ask.

Isaiah 63:18b

our adversaries have trodden down thy sanctuary." (The Pillar of Truth, The Church 1 TIMOTHY 3:15)

as well as

Luke 21:24b

and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled."

and the Event to waken the whole world the bible is right, and for men to open it and read.

Ezekiel 39:14:23

Now the one sitting in the temple of God, well Read:

2 Thessalonians 2:4

Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

1 Corinthians 3:16-17

16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? 17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.

and read this:

Psalms 12:6 The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.

When the King James Bible was translated, their instructions were to follow the following versions:

  • Tyndale’s (1525, 1534),
  • Matthew’s (1537),
  • Coverdale’s (1535),
  • The Great (1539),
  • The Geneva (1560), and primarily,
  • The Bishops’ (1568). which gives us the King James (1611)

The Scripture which indicates seven times of purification can also be applied to the editions of the King James Bible. Revelations chapter 10 talks about Thunders. Thunder is a symbol. It is God's voice speaking. There are seven major editions. They are:

  • The First 1611,
  • The Second 1611,
  • The 1613,
  • The 1629,
  • The 1638,
  • The 1769, and
  • The Pure Cambridge Edition from around 1900.

I hope I may have provided a view point.

So, if Rome started in God's eyes in 275 BC and you add 2300 days, it would come out to 2025.

What changed my Heart was the Spirit of God, The HOLY GHOST, when I read:

Acts:3:19-21

19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord; 20 And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you: 21 Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began

(Times of refreshing)

Isaiah 28:9-13

9 Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts. 10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little: 21 For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people. 12 To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear. 13 But the word of the LORD was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.

Welcome to Biblical Hermeneutics! and thank you for your contribution. When you get a chance, please take the tour to understand how the site works and how it is different than others. I also recommend going through the Help Center's sections on both asking and answering questions.

  • We don't do multi-verse answers much because those are more about theology. You may want to see what we look for in answers. Less conversation in your paragraphs and you don't need to quote the entire Bible, just the key text needed to make your point, and keep the focus on Bible interpretation itself. I think you can do it.

Your information here (as well as others) helped me in my recent Youtube presentation called Daniel 8:14 Showdown Results. Two Bible Research groups had opposite views on this verse. Of course, both cannot be correct. Through prayer and research a winner can be easily declared. You can view this presentation on Youtube at: Compton Ole Country Church of Jesus Christ- 09/02/23. (Fast forward the first 22 minutes to get immediately to the subject matter.) I hope you will find this presentation educational and interesting. Thanks and God bless you. C.W. Good
