Feb 8 at 17:39 comment added Olde English I was intrigued with your Q, because of the fact that you referenced Romans 8:14, I having read the whole 8th Chapter of Romans only yesterday, while considering a conversation between two Professors of Divinity on the "salvatory" import towards us, mere mortals, being in receipt of the holy "spirit", through faith in God and His son Jesus Christ, by way of whom consequential "spirit" is emanated. But, all during the conversation I was thinking that there had to be exceptions to the rule, as it were. With all due reason considered, righteousness should be non exclusive, surely. + 1.

Dec 18, 2023 at 1:18 comment added Nigel J Just as the righteousness of God is revealed in the gospel (though it can be seen, retrospectively, hinted at in Abraham) so the 'sons of God' come to light in the New Testament but may be retrospectively observed, again not fully, in ancient times. But it is incorrect to pre-empt the full revelation and to label the hinted yet veiled foretaste as the full revelation. God dealt with national rulers and gifted them and placed them. But that is not regeneration and they can by no means be called 'sons of God'.
