Jun 21 at 16:59 comment added Christian Doulos The phrase, "spiritual death?" is not anywhere in the Word of God! Using words and phrases that are extra-Biblical, introduces ideas that are not in the Word of God. There is no "spiritual death" - the spirit of man in every person makes every person "spiritual." The body without the spirit is dead (James). To be "spiritually dead" the person has to be physically dead as well. The old humanity died with Christ -- in what sense? This is literal - a reality - but is not talking about the literal death of every human or all would literally be dead. Literal death is the end of our literal life.

Feb 15, 2022 at 16:11 comment added user38524 Interesting thoughts (+1, and welcome to the site), but I still think that not all the nuances of the word "death" have been fully addressed. For example, verse 9 "We know that Christ, being raised from the dead, will never die again; death no longer has dominion over him." or verse 23 "For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord". What does "death" mean in these two contexts?
