Shone is the interpretative, contextual sense, but not 'the correct meaning.' This is in fact the reason 'rays shone out from' is the sense. Also, ἐκτετιναγμένων (them that have been shaken) is not Jerome's. It's what the Septuagint has in this verse. Again, even the Hebrew comes from the too sense 'to rumble/shake.' Probably the underlying meaning of a 'youthful' lively person, hence youths. | |
