Since the magicians in Pharaoh's court had openly conceded defeat to Moses (Exodus 8:19); and since Paul had not lopped Jannes and Jambres among unbelievers, but among apostate believers; and since Moses was opposed numerous times by those who had escaped Egypt with him, the conclusion was that they (Jannes and Jambres) were part of the mixed multitude of Exodus 12:38, and who therefore were ostensible (but apostate) converts to Judaism. | |
