comment How long did Job's tribulation last?
FWIW both options (history and allegory) are mentioned in the Talmud as possibilities. (CC: @warren)

comment What is the meaning of the reference to 'stones' in Ecclesiastes 3?
@JackDouglas Kohelet Rabbah 3:2 עת להשליך אבנים בשעה שאשתך טהורה ועת כנוס אבנים בשעה שאשתך טמאה "'A time to scatter stones' when your wife is pure, 'and a time to gather stones' when your wife is impure." It uses different imagery in explicating the "embracing" verse.

comment How different is Biblical Hebrew from modern Hebrew?
"Vowels matter" That would seem obvious, except the fact that MIH doesn't distinguish between long and short vowel pairs (Komatz-Patah, Tzeirei-Segol, Cheereek Malei-Chirik Chaseir, Kubutz-Shoorook, and Cholom-Komatz Kotton, not to mention the various Chatafs). The same might have been said of various consonant pairs (Tav-Teth, Khaf-Heth, Quf-Kof, Waw-Veth, Aleph-Ayin, Samekh-Sin) but MIH speakers are usually more attuned to those after years of writing with only consonants.

comment Why should an altar be made with uncut stone?
@JonEricson You should know that the 'parallel' verse in Deuteronomy is used in Jewish law to forbid all metal implements in hewing the stones for the altar. They can be hewn with anything except metal for this reason.
