Grew up Mennonite; now Reformed Baptist. Figure that one out.

Having recently upgraded to an Android tablet, I mostly use YouVersion's Bible app. Before that, I primarily used e-Sword and NET Bible on a Fujitsu tablet PC. I've actually been fully electronic since 2002 or 2003, when I got a Pocket PC device. As I told a friend at the time, "I just got an eight-translation parallel Bible with Greek and Hebrew lexicons, and it only weighs 5 ounces!"

I'll insert it, though it doesn't really answer the question "where does it come from?" so much as "why does Irenaeus reject it?" (with the implication that the translators do too.)

comment How should graded numerical parallelism in Hebrew poetry be understood?
One through four work in this specific case. However, in Proverbs 6:16-19 Solomon uses 6/7 items. Job and Psalms use this structure with 6/7 as well.

Interesting. two words, apparently spelled the same, but with different Strong's numbers. (Not that those are inspired, so...) 6754 was what I linked above; 6755 is apparently only used in Daniel. Wonder why these ended up separated by Strong? Because of Hebrew/Aramaic, maybe?

Ok, maybe I misunderstood then. Because it sounded from your first statement as if He didn't, and from your second that he did but at a different time.

But isn't 5:1 a reference back to 1:26? "In the day that God created man..."

Blue Letter Bible lists 17 usages. From those, it appears to be used frequently in context to "idols". However, Psalm 39:6 and 73:20 both appear to use it in a non-physical sense. I don't even see a usage in Daniel listed there.

Ha! My church has been working our way through 1 Corinthians for a while now. Guess what passage we started in on today?

comment Why was Zacchaeus saved according to Jesus?
Also, there are several passages (Ephesians 2:8-10, James 2:14-26) that demonstrate, while works are not salvific, they are normative for those who are saved.
