Why did the Law of Moses tolerate polygyny (polygamy) but not polyandry? This has been flagged as off-topic, and on reflection, I'm inclined to agree. I apologise for the lateness of the closure to you and others who have taken the trouble to answer. I've asked for comments in the site chat room: The Library |

Coherence-Based Genealogical Method vs. Local Text-Types Theory no, the site welcomes Jewish, Christian, Atheist and other viewpoints as long as they take seriously the process of understanding the Biblical texts. |

Coherence-Based Genealogical Method vs. Local Text-Types Theory +1, this is very useful and just the kind of approach we need on the site: good research and clear communication. Do you mean you can only ever access the site from your phone or just right now? |

How can I identify puns in the Hebrew Bible? Hi Bob, do you know someone called 'hudson roper'? He posted a question directed at you about the progress of your dictionary (I assume because he doesn't have the rep to comment here): "how is this going Bob? hopefully well. hudson" |

The beloved disciple vs Peter Hi Remiel, there was a suggested edit from an anonymous user: was that you? Either way, it would be great if you could edit your thoughts into a more complete answer :) |

Who led the people out of Israel in Jude 5? @DanO'Day I encourage you to accept the best answer regardless of who answers—most visitors don't know about the community aspect of the site and we are really here to benefit them (we are currently getting 700+ visitors daily, most directly from Google!). Of course I agree this is the best answer (thanks swasheck) but I don't want anyone to get the impression from your comment that you'd choose it even if it weren't :) |

God the Father's possession of a body of flesh and bones Thanks for the edit: sorry to mess you around like this but it seems clear to me now that this is a real question, but that it is off topic. Please see this on meta for the detail but basically I think your question arises from a doctrine rather than arises from the text (though of course it is about the text, I'm not debating that, but we've had to make the rules very specific on this) |

Why did the witnesses lay their coats at Paul's feet? +1 I find this an interesting comparison especially considering 1 Timothy 1:15-16. It would help others if you would add the Bible quotes inline (you can edit your answer)—are you willing to spend a few minutes doing that? |
