@Daи I don't think I said the link is textual did I? The test is whether the question arises from the text and for someone reasonably versed in the texts, I think it does, from either side. Connections obvious to most folk don't need to be spelt out, so all necessary dots are connected.

@Daи and they are only unrelated if one brings some other sort of preconception to the text, which I believe you are doing. I want both to be welcome here.

@Mark the OP may be trying to develop a systematic theology or assuming that such is possible, but the question is not about a systematic theology, it is about these two texts alone.

@Dan mods can't 'just comment', the diamond carries weight regardless of our intentions. In the past you've admitted that all questions bring 'lots of theological presuppositions' to the texts: are you reverting to suggesting we try and pick a pseudo-neutral standpoint?

@Daи the question does not say anyone 'needs' to reconcile anything, it asks how they would be reconciled. Many folk assume that these texts are inspired and don't contradict each other: I don't see any reason why that viewpoint (or it's corollary) should not be welcomed here as long are the texts are respected either way.

improved tone a little. If I knew where the OP had written this before I'd add a link but without a link it's not a very helpful statement.

Thanks jason, but I still don't follow all your logic, can you connect more of the dots for us? (that meta post I linked explains what I mean eg if you are going to use other writings by other authors can you explain how/why they link together into one big picture?

So is that a kind of "hypostatic union"? Please show all your logic...
