comment What is an “early catholicism”?
I've added a link: does the linked definition match what you intended by the term?

Thanks Don, this effort to fit in with what the community wants here is much appreciated!

comment Why would the disciples have rebuked people for bringing infants to Jesus?
@Dan I won't be converting this to a comment as it then can't be improved or filtered by the voting system. Comments are only for tangential remarks or requests for clarification, not for anything that attempts to answer the question.

comment Is Jesus letter to king of Edessa authentic
@TheFreemason canonicity is also on-topic. I did not downvote: I suspect those that did did do because the OP appears not to have done any basic research first.

comment I will raise you up at the last day
I didn't downvote and don't know who did so I can't be sure, but I didn't upvote either: the question is OK, it starts from the text which is good, but it could use a little more development. Have you done a little reading around first? It's good to do so.

comment How to interpret Isaiah 9:6?
@Jim it's worth remembering that translation is as much art as science. All translation is done through an interpretive lens and the difficulties in correctly understanding any text are considerable (though not, I believe, insurmountably so).

I'm pretty sure this isn't a fair characterization of your reasoning here, is it?

comment Job 38, was God being sarcastic?
I'd be happy to continue this interesting discussion in chat? I understand your POV, but in my view it creates more difficulties than it resolves and I interpret James differently. Of course you may well be right and me wrong: I respect your views and your right to hold them regardless :)
