comment When does it all start to go wrong for Solomon?
@Monica I'm ignoring the chapter boundaries completely for the purposes of this question—just using them to communicate which passages I'm referring to, not implying they have any bearing on the answer!

@Monica set against that is the narrative flow, which really does seem to pivot at the chapter boundary I think.

I haven't yet taken the time to read either answer here, though I do plan to, but at a glance Frank's looks far easier to digest. That doesn't mean it is better, but he will likely get more eyeballs just because of better formatting: you've put such a lot of effort into your answers here which I appreciate, do you have some time to add headings and formatting to help us through them?

comment Who was Matthew 5-7 addressed to?
@swasheck I see the word 'if': I don't think it was a claim, logically speaking. A supposal perhaps?

@swasheck or was "You're supposing that they are the same sermon" directed at me, in which case can you explain what you mean? Also assuming "Additionally, your question betrays your bias" was directed at me, I've tried to edit in a bit more neutrality, but please suggest your own edit: I want the question to be neutral.

I'd been thinking on the same lines without considering Luke: in some sense at least, the crowd were his 'disciples' as they were following him and listening to his teaching.
