comment Different meanings of 'Earth' in Genesis 1
This does help, and sits well with the NET translator notes on the usage in verse 2: "That is, what we now call “the earth.” The creation of the earth as we know it is described in vv. 9-10. Prior to this the substance which became the earth (= dry land) lay dormant under the water." I've noticed that some Gen usages have the article and a few don't. Do those with the article refer to 'the earth' as a whole, and those without refer to 'earth' as in 'the ground' or 'soil'?

comment Why did the Mosaic Law prohibit the ancient Israelites from eating pork?
Google says pigs do not sweat heavily - quite the opposite, they sweat very little.

You seem to be focusing on the word 'lead' - the question is asking about the word 'but'.

Questions here are looking for answers that show the techniques used to arrive at your conclusions - joining the dots from the text itself all the way up. You've just given us what you believe not the crucial why you believe it.

comment Does Paul refer to his past or present evil/sin in Romans 7
Hi Richard, thanks for your comment. I agree there is a wider context, but I'm trying not to go beyond answering the question: "Does Paul refer to his past or present evil/sin in Romans 7". Does that make sense?
