comment Why was polygamy so common in the OT and apparently accepted?
Frank, your question essentially begins from an 'idea' (polygamy in OT times). Similar questions might arise from particular texts — I was wondering about this precise subject this morning while looking at 1 Samuel 1 for example, and you may be able to phrase an on-topic question starting from a particular text: of course your answers might not be generarally applicable aside from the particular circumstances of the text in question, but that is what this site is all about: questions 'from the text' rather than from concepts or ideas and how those relate to the text in a broad sense.

I'm voting to close this question as off-topic because it does not start from a text.

comment How does John 5:28-29 fit with the dispensational hermeneutic
This question seems to have been closed in response to this meta post, but I'm not sure the close reason is valid as it appears to be well within scope.

comment How would Adam know what “you shall surely die” meant?
@rhetorician please see my comment to Scott above :) A question: if the issue is disobedience, did that occur when the fruit was eaten or when Eve first decided in her heart to trust the words of the serpent over the words of her creator?

@ScottS a question that asks "how" is predicated on the assumption that the "how" matters: to show that it does not is an answer to the question. I've left it to other answers (eg yours!) to argue the 'how' because the question does not interest me personally at that level.

I've edited the question to remove the 'bonus' questions — you may like to edit your answer to reflect this.
