Be sure to properly cite the text you're asking about (note that the chapter and verse numbers do not always line up between the Hebrew, Greek, and English texts).

comment How frequently is God attributed to saying “Don't be afraid”?
@RonKyle great point! And yet another reason why this question is unclear / difficult to answer.

Hey @oz1cz your username seemed to follow a familiar pattern, then I discovered it is indeed your callsign ;) Just an FYI, there is also an SE site dedicated to amateur ("ham") radio if you're interested! Welcome to BH.SE!

comment What does Jesus mean in Luke 5:36-39? (new wine into old wineskins)
no problem. You're free to express your perspectives fully using descriptive language ("I believe X", or "From a Christian perspective...", etc.). The goal is simply not to prescribe praxis to your readers here (i.e. "you should do this"). Check out What about preaching? Adding food for thought is fine, simply use descriptive language to do so and you'll be just fine :)

This is moreso an answer to Is the ending of the Gospel of Mark (16:9-20) original?. You might consider posting it there as well.

Could you provide a more specific citation so that this claim can be verified? Also, please explain Barclay's argument, don't just tell us the conclusion. We care far more about how Barclay came to this conclusion than just knowing he did.

comment Paul's knowledge of Jannes and Jambres the magicians of Egypt
Whilst this does partially answer the question, it would be preferable to include the essential parts of the answer here (summarize the relevant portions of the resource that answer this question), and provide the link for reference. Unfortunately links go away over time, so having the relevant material here is best.

comment How do the books in the Bible get their names?
This question is broad, shows no minimal research effort, and is a 'general reference' (LMGTFY) type of question.

@Susan you can also manually type the html commands for superscript: 1.

Welcome to Biblical Hermeneutics Stack Exchange! Be sure to take our site tour to learn more about us. We're a little different from other sites. Using prescriptive language when referencing the audiences of ancient texts moves from describing the text itself to prescribing norms that are expressed as binding on readers and therefore imposes this application upon the reader.
