comment Why is “maranatha” in 1 Cor 16:22?
This is absolutely fascinating. I'm sure it's old hat to professionals in the field of Biblical scholarship but to an interested amateur like me this is a fascinating discussion.

comment What Evidence Supports The Gospel Of Thomas Being Q?
@JonathanChell Excellent point but I was under the impression (perhaps mistaken) that the general consensus of scholars is that there was a Q document at some point in history.

I seem to recall the theory being put forth in "The Five Gospels" but my memory may be flawed.

comment What Is The Aorist Tense Of A Verb?
Well Dan, not that it really makes any difference but the FAQ you're referencing is from August 6. You'll notice my question was posted back in February of 2012--long before the FAQ was written. I'd close the question myself if I could but I would also say you're being a bit pedantic.

By the way @Dan just because there's something on Wikipedia doesn't make this totally off-topic. Reread my question: part of my question is regarding how the aorist verb impacts translation.

comment What does “My Lord and my God” Mean?
Thanks to both of you for such enlightened (and enlightening) commentary. Biblical hermeneutics is an avocation for me so I don't follow all the technical details but thanks to both of you for laying out this level of detail.
