comment Meaning of “Where there is a dead body, there the vultures will gather.”
In these verses, Jesus just got done telling them about Noah and the flood and Lot and Sodom, both events in which a person was left and the other was taken (or destroyed); events of God's wrath. Perhaps another way to interpret these verses is not about rapture, but about God's wrath being poured out, and one being taken, or destroyed, by it, and one being left.

comment What is Jesus trying to tell us about divisions in the household?
Thanks Bob. What is the "letter"? I've never heard that term. If its a short answer, would you mind? Else I can ask another question.

comment Accurate translations of original scripts/text
I think the use of the word "also" in verse 25 might be bias, but I am not sure. I would actually really like to know if it is or isn't.

Well, other than missing/adding a few words, I think the only bias here is the use of the word "Messiah" in verse 25 and 26.

comment How can we understand “fear”?
That is, a life "without", or "in opposition to" God (might be better wording).

I agree and would be cautious too. I think God wants us to have reverential and terrified fear for Him in knowing what life, and after life, would be like without Him. Imagining a life without God terrifies me!

comment Why does Jesus include “persecutions” in the list of things received by his followers?
@JonEricson I added a bit more to my answer. I think Barnes' commentary explains that somewhat. I mentioned some of what he says with my own 2 cents.

@JonEricson I was mistakenly quoting NIV, and I just replaced it with the Amplified ver. I also changed the title to focus on my main question. Though I am very curious about the "fire", too.

Hi @Ray, Happy to be part of such an awesome site! I believe the commentaries on this page support this idea: bible.cc/mark/10-30.htm (forgot how to do hyperlinks in comments >_<)
