Meaning of “Where there is a dead body, there the vultures will gather.” In these verses, Jesus just got done telling them about Noah and the flood and Lot and Sodom, both events in which a person was left and the other was taken (or destroyed); events of God's wrath. Perhaps another way to interpret these verses is not about rapture, but about God's wrath being poured out, and one being taken, or destroyed, by it, and one being left. |

Why does Jesus include “persecutions” in the list of things received by his followers? @JonEricson Perhaps "a warning" and "a reminder" can go hand in hand? Depends on if He spoke to His disciples about persecution prior to this, to be literal: If he had not, it would be a warning, if he did, a reminder. I was thinking the latter, but not 100% sure. But anyway, I think we're on the same page ;) |

How can we understand “fear”? I agree and would be cautious too. I think God wants us to have reverential and terrified fear for Him in knowing what life, and after life, would be like without Him. Imagining a life without God terrifies me! |
