comment Is there a modern English translation of the Bible that uses the second-person plural pronoun?
My father, who is a linguist, claims that the theologians overwork the importance of the number of the second person pronoun. The community/individual dialectic is certainly a critical one in Scripture, but it is easy to go to far in studying it in the details of the pronouns.

Peter J. Leithart has an instructive discussion of this in his book A House for My Name.

comment How should the story of David's concubines be read?
I'm arguing that as it was a case law, an example situation, it should be applied here, even though it was not a divorce case, particularly since this was a form of incest.

I am marking this as the accepted answer, but I am hoping that there will be further discussion. I will upvote any answers that add detail or advance a different viewpoint unless they are extremely low quality.

comment Did Pharoah have free will?
+1. Note that int the list of verses referenced, some of them say Pharaoh hardened his own heart! This points to the mutual truth of God's control and Pharaoh's ontologically free but ethically enslaved will.

Okay, that is a good point. I think that is usually taken too far by theologians (denotation sometimes becomes lost in connotation in some explanations), but your comment is a good one.
