(Note: The following is not a theological argument, only a logical and hermeneutical one.) A valid kal vachomer argument goes like this: If P is true in a weaker case, then P is certainly also true in a stronger case. However, a valid kal vachomer does not argue for more than P. For the logic to apply, the assertion P has to be equal in both cases. Thus (regardless of the validity of the assertion on its own right), a kal vachomer argument cannot by itself serve to assert that it means "more than the minimum" or "an even greater sense."
