Thanks. The NET Bible's footnotes are excellent. (Just a shame I can't get a URL to a specific chapter / verse.)

comment Why is this same word translated both “they”, “he” and “him” in Luke 10:38?
@GoneQuiet: exactly my point. Who went into the house? Some commentaries say it was only Jesus, but also mention that other people must have been present because Martha was busy with much serving. And so I'm puzzled why this same word is translated different ways here.

comment What does “My Lord and my God” Mean?
Most significantly, it highlights the deity of Christ. Jesus didn't deny being God.

comment Was it unusual for a woman (Mary) to sit at Jesus' feet in the account of Luke 10?
Thanks, this matches my interpretation. Until now, I've heard people mention the John 4 story demonstrating Jesus' attitude to women, but never this story, hence my question.

comment Why did John write in this seemingly time-bending way?
Wasn't he just clarifying which Mary it was, given that there were so many around at the time?

comment Why did Jesus tell Mary not to hold onto Him?
I don't agree that, "the physical affection that they had showed him was no longer appropriate". However, I do think you've hit on something with not clinging to Him, because He had to go to be with His Father. So I'll accept this but also have a nagging feeling this issue could be explored further.

comment Did Jesus not heal the crippled beggar at the gate Beautiful?
Yes, I am sure of that. I am wondering if there are any clues in this specific instance. Eg. Maybe someone knows that Jesus would never have entered by this gate.

It is difficult to make predictions, especially about the future.
