Control Systems Engineer.
Most people want to stick their head in the sand and ignore problems, in an effort to avoid conflict. I refuse to be that passive person. Problems are there to be fixed, which means that first they have to identified. Denial is not just a river in Egypt.

New American Standard Bible vs English Standard Version: Which one's more faithful to the original text? They're both literal translations, but this question is way off-topic for this site. |

What does the prohibition against women speaking in church in 1 Corinthians 14:34-35 mean? @Ray, I'm fine with the h-g method, but that has nothing to do with the last sentence. I love talking theology, this site just isn't about that. Note, I do hope to find some time this weekend to write an answer though. |

What does the prohibition against women speaking in church in 1 Corinthians 14:34-35 mean? This seems to be more theological than hermeneutical or exegetical. |

Which hermeneutical approaches support a literal interpretation of the Creation account? @Ray, no, it's to use the commonly accepted connotations that the people on this site want to use, even if they aren't completely accurate. I have no interest in two sites, with one for hermeneutics and one for exegesis, they are close enough to be used without having to get nitpicky on which is which. Also see my edit on my comment. |

Which hermeneutical approaches support a literal interpretation of the Creation account? @Ray, If you're referring to the difference between hermeneutical and exigetical, as per the meta question, I'm considering them the same for this site. This question isn't asking about hermeneutical principles, it's asking about arguments for a specific viewpoint. Of course, it's also overly broad, and can't possibly be answered well in one question. |

Which hermeneutical approaches support a literal interpretation of the Creation account? Please ask specific hermeneutical questions on this site, like "Does the hebrew word for "day" used in Genesis 1 mean 24 hours." for example. |

How does one determine whether an apparent demand in scripture is absolute or relative @Shog9, actually, it's both. It's a topic you can write books about, and it's not about hermeneutical issues. |

Which 'modern' English translation of the Bible is considered the 'closest' or most accurate translation? This question is way too subjective for this site. |

How does one determine whether an apparent demand in scripture is absolute or relative Even though I left an answer, this question is really way too broad for this site, which is more for technical questions about hermeneutical issues. |
