@JohnMartin, I spent a lot of time this weekend just trying to track down anything on the phrase "after the flood" to see if anyone had an opinion on whether that referred to the beginning or the end of it, but didn't find anything. So when I get the time to do more analysis, I'll start with the end, and then give the correction factor for the beginning.

The word "trinity" might not have come about until later, but the concept was certainly around from the first century. It didn't come to the fore as an issue until later.
